As was mentioned on the leaflet handed out to visitors: “Florists, flower clubs and floristry students have joined together to create the stunning ‘A Country House in Autumn’ displays.” Visitors were asked to vote for their favourite display.
This year the displays were spectacular. The autumnal colours filled every room in the castle and I am sure it was very difficult for the visitors to make their choice of the best. Some areas were excluded from the voting as members of staff created them. These included the upper and lower corridors, the banqueting hall and the small courtyard. The winner was chosen by the public: Lady Baillie’s bedroom.
I have included three pictures from each room. This page shows the following rooms:
Room | About the flower arrangements |
---|---|
Heraldry Room | Inspired by paintings of the kings and queens |
Lower Corridor | Created by one of the stewards and her friend |
Queen’s Room | Inspiration came from the coat of arms in this room. |
Bathroom | Created for relaxation |
Queen's Gallery | Inspired by the colours in this room |
Courtyard | Created by the grounds team |
Banqueting Hall | A contribution by the staff florists |
Chapel | Decoration for a wedding |
