October lived up to the label ‘Golden’. We had very little rain and lots of sun. The autumn colours in the surrounding area were glorious. Our garden still had a lot of colour. You might wonder why the same flowers appear month upon month. There are some flowers that are very good value for money. The dahlias, for example, have put on a fantastic display since mid-summer and are still going strong. A slight frost in the middle of the month did do a limited damage to some plants but they should survive. Some of the more fragile plants have now been removed to their winter quarters in the garage and greenhouse.
