George had organised a first computer, a laptop, for Eileen and so we made the journey to visit her and her husband Patrick in Kew so that George could install it and give Eileen an induction into the vagaries of computing. Whilst they huddled over the laptop, Patrick and I looked around Kew Gardens, literally just across the road from their flat. Patrick is a keen plantsman and a member of the Royal Horticultural Society so he was an enthusiastic guide. Whilst we were there an exhibition of the work of Henry Moore was being prepared. For lunch Patrick has invited us to a nice restaurant with excellent food.
