The Kent tourism alliance decided to make the county’s residents aware of the interesting places to visit by offering 10,000 tickets to various attractions. It was marketed as ‘The big day out’ and took place on 31st March. Each household in Kent was given the chance to obtain 2 tickets. At first it was very difficult to log onto the website. It was obviously going to be popular but I finally acquired two tickets for Squerryes Court at Westerham, Kent.
We set off in the morning under cloudy skies with the occasional burst of sunshine. We spent some time looking round the garden with its lovely display of daffodils and then decided to have a quick look inside the house. Unfortunately we were too early as it was not due to open until 1pm, so we made our way home for a late lunch.
