Tanglewood by Pembury
Instead of the usual meeting with a speaker, the June meeting was to Tanglewood, the home of Julia Jarman, who last year gave us a talk about her garden. A treat was in store for us as the garden is beautifully laid out with separate garden ‘rooms’: the pond garden, the vegetable garden, the wildlife garden and the trellis garden as well as a small orchard, beds and trees. When the Jarmans arrived in 2004 the garden consisted mainly of tall conifers. These were felled and the garden landscaped and with Julia’s passion and hard work turned into what can be seen today. The evening concluded with tea or coffee and biscuits on the lawn.
