Day 6: Michelstadt, Tauberbischofsheim, Dettelbach
We had left Rachel in Mannheim the evening before and spent the night in Schriesheim. The next morning we set out across Odenwald to Dettelbach, where we were staying the night. After booking into the hotel we made our way to Sommerach to pick up our usual wine supplies from Bruno Henke. We had intended staying for the wine festival in the evening but it was so hot that we were advised that not much would be gong on so made our way back to Dettelbach and had a stroll around the town.
Michelstadt, in Odenwald, is a town we have visited several times before. It is a typical old German town.
Tauberbischofsheim is another town that we visited in the past. This time we just had a quick stop for lunch.
Dettelbach was another pleasant old German town near to the River Main. Most of the old town wall still exists as do some of the entrance gates.
