On a bright sunny day residents of Meopham met for a protest march to oppose plans by Gravesham Council to build hundreds of homes on green belt land in the village. The peaceful march started at 2pm at Meopham Station and ended on the village green, where several speakers put forward the reasons for opposing the plans. Not only is the green belt at risk but also the infrastructure and amenities are not adequate even for the present population.
It is early and the first demonstrators arrive.
