Blenheim (14th November, 2013)

Once again Maureen organised sunny weather for our excursion to Blenheim Palace. We had to start early as we had a full programme ahead of us. On arrival we made our way to the Indian Room where we were provided with coffee and mince pies and entertained with an illustrated talk on Christmas past at the Palace. Then it was off to the main part of the Palace open to the public for a private guided tour. The Palace was decorated for Christmas throughout and our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We then went back to the Indian Room for a traditional Christmas meal of Roast Turkey and trimmings followed by Christmas pudding. Lin and I noticed that time was passing so left as soon as we had finished the meal so that we could have a quick look around the grounds. They were spectacular with all the autumnal colours.
