Day 5: The Nevis Range and Fort William

Our last full day and the weather forecast was not good. We were to go up Ben Nevis in a gondola but on our journey we could not see the top of the mountain due to cloud. However, we were assured that the visibility was good and so we made the ascent. Three of the group managed to slip over at the top, including me, but nobody was seriously hurt. The views from the top were spectacular, although we did not quite make it to the top of the viewing area.

From Ben Nevis we drove the short distance to Fort William, where we had time to look around and do some last minute shopping. A pipe band marching through the high street was a bonus.
