The group had hoped to get to the top of Table Mountain but it had been too windy. We arrived at the aerial cableway station just as it should have opened, only to find it shut because it was still too windy. At least we had managed to get almost to the top. From there we made our way back to the coast and started on our journey along the Cape Route, along the Atlantic Seaboard, which was to take us past spectacular scenery as far as The Cape of Good Hope, Cape Point, Boulder Beach with the penguins and Simon’s Town.
