Our last full day and we drove to Kerékteleki to visit the ‘country cousins’ Sárika (Zsuzsi’s sister) and Gyula (her husband). Yet another feast was laid before us and the meal was followed by an excursion around the large garden. Not only is the family self-sufficient in fruit and vegetables but also it has pigs and chickens and fish in the local lake. Homemade pálinka (brandy) and wine are also produced from the grapes. It was also nice to meet the only remaining family member of her generation: Manci néni (Zsuzsi’s and Sárika’s mother).
