About Myself

I was born in Gravesend in the 1930s. My family moved to Downs (Istead Rise) just days before war was declared in 1939. I went to Gravesend Grammar School and then to the City of London College. I married Douglas, a Bristolian, in 1955. We have a son and a daughter and five grandchildren of whom we are very proud.

In years gone by, I have been a Girl Guide, a member of Meopham Young Farmers’ Club, a member of the National Association of Ladies’ Circles and served on the National Executive Committee, and played in a ladies’ cricket team on Meopham Green.

At present, my interests are gardening, theatre and fine arts (very much a beginner). I am a member of St. John the Baptist Church, where I have various responsibilities which keep me busily involved.
