In place of the normal one day firework display the castle decided this year to continue the festivities over 2 days with the theme ‘Mystical Firework Spectacular’. The grounds were open to the public from 12 noon and there was plenty to see before the firework and laser show at 5.30 p.m. Jousting, falconry displays, jugglers, fire-eaters and of course the castle’s resident dragon, Melissa, kept the crowds amused throughout the afternoon. Then the spectacular show illustrating the story of the night of the dragon commenced. I think everyone agreed that it was a magical day.
