July might have been cold and wet but the weather did not improve until nearly the end of August. We had to turn our central heating on during the evening for a few days from the 20th August. We cannot remember ever having to do that in August in the past. The plants were grateful for the rain even if we were not! What happened to summer in 2007? There was an improvement by the August Bank holiday weekend and it remained dry with some sun.
