Page 1: Rye
Maureen, the outings organiser, had once again ensured that we had perfect weather for our excursion to Rye and Winchelsea. Unfortunately the coach driver had no SatNav and only knew a very roundabout way to our first stop at Rye. We were therefore very late. Although our booked blue badge guide did her best to show us as much as possible of this charming town, some members of the group had booked into a restaurant for lunch and so she was compelled to cut her talk short. I had taken a sandwich with me so made my way to the riverside to eat it and then had an explorative walk around the back streets and lanes.
