After a dry March we were not prepared for the wet and cold weather, which was to be with us for most of the month. Nothing was growing. Tomatoes, which had germinated at the end of February, were not making any progress by the end of April. In fact, the same can be said for most of the seeds planted. We can only hope that May will be kinder to the gardeners, although at present the weather forecast is not hopeful.
