| We were kindly invited by Gail and Chris to join them at the sea cadets' dinner dance to mark their 70th anniversary. It was held at the Royal Terrace Pier, which is not normally open to the public as it belongs to the Port of London Authority. A group of us were picked up by taxi and taken to the venue. The sea cadets did a grand job serving all the tables and the food was excellent. Once the meal was over the band started up and there were dance numbers to suit all tastes. Finally, at the stroke of midnight, our taxi arrived to whisk us home. It was very enjoyable evening and our thanks go to Gail and Chris. |  |
