Introduction
I don’t know how many of the Circle know about NADFAS, except for Maureen, who has been very involved, having held various committee positions over recent years.
NADFAS is an acronym for the National Association of Decorative and Fine Art Societies. It has a membership of 90,000, and 330 Societies in the U.K., and one or two now established on the continent and Australia. There is an affiliated society in Gravesend of which Maureen and I are members.
The aims of the Association are to provide lectures, study days and visits of the highest possible standard for its members, and to support conservation through the work of its Heritage Volunteers and Church Recorders, and to promote Young Arts projects to engage the interest of young people.
