Autumn at Leonardslee Gardens and betwixt Christmas and New Year at Leeds Castle 2007

We visited Leonardslee Gardens in East Sussex during the first week in October 2007 to see the autumn colours. We were about 10 days too early for the leaves to be at their best but the colours were still fantastic and the weather amazing. We rated the gardens some of the best we have seen and vowed to go back in May when the rhododendrons are in bloom. The gardens encompass lakes, woods, deer paddocks and wallaby enclosures.

Between Christmas and New Year we went to Leeds Castle in Kent to see the rooms of the castle decorated in the style of the times. Another lovely sunny day. The grounds and wildfowl were as interesting as the castle.
