Our son Ian and his wife Lisa took us on a picnic to Wakehurst Place at the end of August.
The idea was to have the picnic and then visit the nature reserve to see Kingfishers, but they had sold all the allotted tickets for the nature reserve that day so we had to make do with a hide close by.
Unfortunately the Kingfishers did not appear but we enjoyed the picnic and the walk around the grounds.
